Indiana 4-star CB Mark Zachery commits to Notre Dame Football

On Saturday, 4-star cornerback Mark Zachery publicly announced his commitment to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and their 2025 football recruiting class.

The 6'0″ and 165-pound player from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, chose the Irish despite numerous offers, including the Michigan Wolverines, Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, USC Trojans, Oregon Ducks and many more.

247 Sports has Zachery as the sixth-best cornerback in the nation, and the On3 Consensus and 247 Composite have him in the top 100 players overall.

From 247:

Was an early starter at a good high school where he regularly played against strong competition. Also a standout basketball player and his basketball exploits were another sign of his athleticism. Plays the ball well in the air and stays in good position to make those plays. Average size but has the length, timing and athleticism to challenge bigger receivers. Fluid in his transition and shows enough recovery speed to get to the ball. Willing tackler but needs to get stronger and bigger to continue to succeed in college. Athleticism, technical ability and ball skills all point to an impact player at a big program and could succeed as either an outside corner or slot corner.

From ISD:

Zackery has the potential to be an outstanding cornerback and I could easily see him playing as a fullback or slot defender.

He's a little underweight right now, but once he stops playing basketball, it should be much easier for him to get to the right weight. Once that happens, he could be ready to compete for playing time at Notre Dame.

Zachery is the 22nd commitment for the 2025 recruiting class and the first from Indiana for the Fighting Irish. The class is now represented in 13 different states across the country and is currently ranked 1st according to the 247 Team Composite Rankings.

Mike Mickens deserves a ton of credit for his efforts to recruit players. Two of Notre Dame's top four recruits are cornerbacks (Mark Zachery and Dallas Golden) and there's a third cornerback in Cree Thomas with a lot of potential and upside. The Irish secondary looks lethal in this class.

The Irish haven't signed the state's best talent lately, but Zachery is as good as any player this year — and from anywhere. This is a HUGE signing for Notre Dame and one that could make an immediate impact.

WELCOME TO ND MARK!
