Report: Rory McIlroy's wife reached 'breaking point' that led to divorce

Apparently the Sun's lovely readers love golf served with a dash of scandal, judging by our top two stories of the week.

The announcement that Rory McIlroy had filed for divorce from his wife Erica Stoll was followed by reports that she had reached “a breaking point” in their seven-year marriage, Dan Bilicki reported.

She was reportedly lonely as he traveled the world playing golf, while she had to change her priorities after the birth of their daughter Poppy in August 2020.

Shortly after the news of the couple's deaths, the next bombshell dropped: According to reports, something was going on between McIlroy and golf reporter Amanda Balionis.

The married CBS sports journalist was recently spotted without a ring on her finger and many spoke of the undeniable chemistry between the couple.

Balionis and her husband Bryn Renner have not yet officially announced their separation, but Bilicki pointed out that the reporter changed her name at X from her married name “Balionis Renner” back to her maiden name earlier this year.

But as it turns out, they did not adequately consider the changes in population inclusion and their real impact on many others, including middle-class people and small business owners, reported Brian Lilley.

Blue Jays fan goes viral after taking Bo Bichette's foul ball off her forehead and gets his own baseball card

We're not going to lie, but it was hard to get any word on this story last week, and that's only because the photos shared by the Blue Jays fan should have come with a warning. (FYI: Consider yourself warned.)

Liz McGuire not only gained notoriety for taking a foul on the forehead from Bo Bichette, but she also got nothing for her bruises and bumps – until she shared pictures of the aftermath on social media.

This obviously spurred the team, and they remedied the situation by offering the woman tickets to a game, an invitation to batting practice, and an autographed baseball after she was not given the original ball.

Hopefully they will provide her with a helmet for the game.

SIMMONS SAYS: Upon closer inspection, Craig Berube was a good signing for the Maple Leafs

Poor Steve Simmons. He didn't like the hiring of Craig Berube as head coach of the Maple Leafs, but then he heard things – good things – about the man and they not only “more than” like him, they believe in him.

More importantly, they believe his style and personality are so different from former coach Sheldon Keefe that he may be just what the hockey doctors ordered.

And Berube wasted no time. He spent his first three days as coach on the phone, not on the ice, and he managed to learn a lot in that time. He contacted club management and players to get the hang of things, Lance Hornby reported.

For the future, Berube emphasizes that communication and the players' acceptance and understanding of responsibility are of utmost importance.

Ben Affleck has 'come to his senses' about marriage to Jennifer Lopez: Source says 'there's no way this is going to work'

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck remained united after reports emerged that their marriage was ending, Mark Daniell reported.

Since it was only the second time the normally happy couple had been photographed together, it was assumed that the pictures were an attempt at damage control, but they only led to more questions and rumors.

The latest report claims that Affleck is divorced and if there was an opportunity to “file for a divorce on the grounds of temporary insanity, he would do it.”

Phew. This is more painful than Gigli.
