Celebrating Excellence: Carter County Sports Hall of Fame All-County Team – www.elizabethton.com

On June 28, the Carter County community will come together to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of its young athletes at the Carter County Sports Hall of Fame All-County Team Banquet. This prestigious event will be held at Milligan University's McCormick Dining Center in Sutton Hall and will begin at 5 p.m. and will honor over 100 outstanding athletes from Elizabethton, Hampton, Unaka, Cloudland and Happy Valley for their exceptional achievements during the 2023-2024 season.

The evening promises to be unforgettable, full of awards and recognition for these talented individuals. Each athlete will be treated to a sumptuous meal, followed by an awards ceremony where they will receive well-deserved honors for their hard work and dedication. The event will also feature the highly anticipated presentation of the annual Larry Bowling Award, a special honor given to an athlete who embodies outstanding athleticism, leadership and sportsmanship.

Richard “Jarfly” Dugger, a popular figure in the community, will emcee the evening and ensure that the event runs smoothly. He will add his unique charm and enthusiasm to the proceedings. The guest speaker, whose identity will be announced in mid-June, is expected to deliver an inspirational speech that will motivate and encourage the young athletes to continue their sporting careers.

The Carter County Sports Hall of Fame is very proud to honor these young talents, many of whom could one day be among the county's most famous athletes. This event not only highlights their current accomplishments, but inspires them to aim higher and dream bigger, knowing that their community supports and cheers on their efforts.
