Bronny James will reportedly train for a surprise NBA team

The 2024 NBA Draft begins on June 26 and one of the most promising candidates will be Bronny James.

He is coming off his freshman year at USC, where he averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game in 25 games, shooting 36.6% from the field and 26.7% from three-point range.

On Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Phoenix Suns will be one of the teams James will train for before the draft.

About Charania: “According to sources, the Phoenix Suns will conduct a workout with Bronny James ahead of the NBA Draft in June. Phoenix has the 22nd pick and he is one of several players being considered. Bronny has over 10 workout invites but is only expected to visit a few teams, including the Lakers and the Suns.”

Teams usually interview many players before the draft.

Still, it's a bit surprising that the Suns are interested in James.

While many believe he would be a good fit for the Los Angeles Lakers (due to his father, LeBron James), he would also fit in with a team that is rebuilding and has plenty of time to develop a talent.

The Suns are coming off a season in which they finished sixth in the Western Conference with a record of 49-33.

They were defeated by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

Despite the disappointing year, the Suns with Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal and Devin Booker are considered contenders.
