Udonis Haslem, spokesman for the Southwest Florida High School Sports Awards

Udonis Haslem, a three-time NBA champion with the Miami Heat, will be the guest speaker at the Southwest Florida High School Sports Awards presented by Babcock Ranch on Thursday, June 6, at the Suncoast Credit Union Arena. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins promptly at 7 p.m.

Haslem was born and raised in Miami before graduating from Miami Senior High School and playing college for Billy Donovan in Florida. He won titles as a power forward with the Heat in 2006, 2012 and 2013. He is now vice president of basketball development in Miami, where he played his entire NBA career.

Outside of sports, Haslem is a businessman and was inducted into the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce's Sports Hall of Champions in 2016 for his athletic achievements. Haslem also donated the first profits from his franchises to the Jackson Health Foundation. He is a proud husband to his wife, Faith, and father of three sons, Kedonis, Elijah and Josiah.

During the live show, the athletes of the year in 30 state-recognized sports will be honored. In addition, top teams, coaches and overall athletes will be honored, as well as a winner of the Courage Award. Nominated athletes who confirm their participation will receive a free ticket to the event thanks to the sponsors.
