Lynchburg Summer Movies 2024: Summer Movie Express and Outdoor Movies

Summer is all about movies in Lynchburg. Regal Summer Movie Express is back again this year! Whether you're looking for a free outdoor movie or a cheap indoor movie, Lynchburg Macaroni Kid has you covered! Check out the movies below and find movie theater fun for your whole family this summer!

Summer Movie Express at Regal River Ridge Stadium 14

Tickets for Summer Movie Express are just $1 and feature summer movies that are fun for the whole family. Regal's Summer Movie Express runs from June 11 through August 7 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 11 a.m., showing two different films each week.

The following schedule applies to Regal River Ridge Stadium 14 in Lynchburg:

Week 1: 11-12 June: SMX24: Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway AND SMX24: Puss in Boots: The Last Wish
Week 2: 18-19. June: SMX24: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem AND SMX24: The Angry Birds Movie 2
Week 3: 25-26 June: SMX24: Despicable Me 3 AND SMX24: Migration
Week 4: July 2-3: SMX24: Spider-Man: A New Universe AND SMX24: Paw Patrol: The Movie
Week 5: July 9-10: SMX24: Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse AND SMX24: Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie
Week 6: July 16-17: SMX24: Clifford the Big Red Dog AND SMX24: Sonic The Hedgehog
Week 7: July 23-24: SMX24: Trolls Band Together AND SMX24: Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Week 8: July 30-31: SMX24: Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile AND SMX24: Kung Fu Panda 3
Week 9: August 6-7: SMX24: Minions: In Search of the Mini Boss AND SMX24: Sing 2

Free indoor and outdoor summer movies for 2024

Free outdoor movies are available at various locations throughout the Lynchburg area. All movies begin at dusk. Some locations have activities or food for purchase. Click on the links for more information about each movie. Some venues do not release movie names until closer to the event date. More free summer movies will be added to our calendar as information becomes available.

May 18 – Movies on the Field in Amherst: “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem”, doors open at 5pm, film starts at dusk – **POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER**

May 18 – Open-air cinema: “Disney's Wish” at the First Christian Church at 8 p.m.

June 7 – Family movie night at Falling Creek Park in Bedford: “TMNT Mutant Mayhem” at 8 p.m.

June 20 – Family film event: “Disney’s Treasure Planet” at the Forest Library at 12 noon

July 12 – “Trolls Band Together” at Riverfront Park, activities begin at 6:30 p.m., movie at dusk

July 12 – Family Movie Night at Falling Creek Park in Bedford: “Trolls Band Together” – starts at dusk

July 19 – “Wonka” at Riverfront Park, activities begin at 6:30 p.m., film at dusk

August 2 – “Jumanji” at Riverfront Park, activities start at 6:30 p.m., film at dusk

August 9 – “The Goonies” at Riverfront Park, activities start at 6:30 p.m., film at dusk

August 16 – “Sing 2” at Riverfront Park, activities begin at 6:30 p.m., film at dusk

August 30 – “Barbie” at Riverfront Park, activities start at 6:30 p.m., film at dusk
