Lakers' 2024 NBA Home Prep Schedule Revealed; Warriors, suns, wolves on slate

The Los Angeles Lakers have released their home preseason schedule for the 2024-25 season.

Interestingly, none of these games will take place at the Lakers' Crypto.com Arena.

The first two (against the Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns) will take place at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California. The final game against the Golden State Warriors will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

All three opponents have big stars.

Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves, who are heading into Game 7 of their Western Conference semifinal series against the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets, are first on the list. Minnesota is looking for its first conference finals berth in 20 years.

Then there's Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns, who are wondering what's next after a brutal first-round win over the Timberwolves. Phoenix has already made a coaching change, replacing Frank Vogel with Mike Budenholzer.

Finally, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and the Warriors come to Las Vegas for a showdown with the Lakers. It remains to be seen whether they will be joined by longtime teammate and five-time All-Star Klay Thompson, who is expected to become a free agent.

As for the Lakers, it wouldn't be a surprise if they made some changes after their disappointing first-round exit to the Nuggets.

Anthony Davis will certainly be back, but everything else is uncertain, especially with LeBron James holding a player option that he can decline to become a free agent. But we'll see how things shake out soon as the draft looms in June and free agency begins in July.
