Miranda Cosgrove Says She Wants to End 'iCarly' with a Movie (Exclusive)

Miranda Cosgrove It feels like there's more story to tell when it comes to this iCarly Universe.

The actress walked the carpet at a special screening of her new Netflix romantic comedy Mother of the bride — took place Wednesday at the Bay Theater in Pacific Palisades, Calif. — and she spoke with ET's Deidre Behar about her acclaimed TV series and its three-season revival run.

“I definitely had a great experience coming back and doing this for a few seasons,” Cosgrove said. “But I would like to be able to conclude the story somehow.”

Cosgroves iCarly The series originally ran for six seasons on Nickelodeon, from 2007 to 2012. It was picked up for a revival on Paramount+ in 2021 and ran for three seasons until its cancellation in October 2023.

“Maybe, hopefully, we’ll get it done someday,” Cosgrove said of completing the project iCarly Saga. “I feel like it would probably look more like a movie that kind of wraps everything up or something like that. That's what I'm hoping for.”

There are still a few storylines that Cosgrove would like to see implemented, including her character's long-developing romance with Freddie Benson (Nathan Kress) and some unanswered family questions.

“I really want to know who Carly’s mother is [fans do]. “It seems like a lot of people were hoping for this,” Cosgrove said.

As Cosgrove prepares to celebrate her 31st birthday on May 14, the actress also reflected on how this chapter in her life – her 30s – has gone so far, and she's pretty happy with how it's turned out.

“It was really good,” she said. “I know people are often a little nervous about turning 30 and moving into a new decade. But it’s been really great so far!”

Mother of the bride – starring Brooke Shields, Benjamin Bratt, Chad Michael Murray and Rachael Harris – arrives on Netflix on May 9th.
