New leaks about the Galaxy Z Fold 6's external display indicate a final change

Several leaks about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 have surfaced online, revealing the alleged camera specs, battery size, chip strategy, and even the different color options in which the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are rumored to be launching become.

Now a few new leaks have surfaced from reliable tipsters IceUniverse on X (formerly Twitter) that show the alleged screen protector for the outer display of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. And from the looks of it, the outer display of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 seems to be slightly wider compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Speaking of the design that Samsung developed for the Galaxy Z Fold 5, many liked the narrow and tall outer display, but many wished that it was a little wider. It looks like the narrow and tall display will now disappear on the premium foldable, at least if you look at the supposedly leaked images of the Galaxy Z Fold 6's outer display.

It's worth noting that the outer display of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 has an aspect ratio of 23:9, which makes everyday tasks and app operation a bit awkward due to the tall display. According to tipster IceUniverse, the Galaxy Z Fold 6's outer display screen protector now features a wider outer display that measures approximately 60.2mm compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 5's 57.4mm display.

Another design change you'll notice in the leaked images is that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 now follows the design language of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The screen protectors feature sharper corners, indicating a departure from the rounded and soft corners of the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

A marginal change, some might say. Samsung should include a better camera system because the previous generation foldable devices, despite having a higher price, lacked a good camera system. While there's less hope for the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the rumored Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE, all hopes for a better camera now rest on the rumored Galaxy Z Fold 6 “Ultra” model.
