“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” has its own Rocky IV moment

The latest episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia pays tribute to the titular city and another pop culture icon.

The report does not mention that Stallone was personally involved in the film at the time. An official logline was released, which notably does not refer to Stallone by name. One could speculate that the film might rewrite history a bit by following a character inspired by Stallone. However, the synopsis suggests a story that is very reminiscent of what actually happened in Stallone's search for the property Rocky made, which includes his insistence that he also be allowed to play the lead role.

The plot states: “The film follows a struggling actor with a partially paralyzed face and a speech impediment who writes a script that a major film studio wants to buy but refuses to sell it unless he is allowed to star . He refuses. He offers life-changing money, but instead he works for pennies to get the film made with himself in the lead role.
