Dwight Howard, Kendrick Perkins, NBA world reacts to Timberwolves' Nuggets brawl

Days ago, Dwight Howard theorized that the Minnesota Timberwolves would beat the Denver Nuggets in five games. Fast forward to the end of Game 2 and immediately to Howard has adjusted his prediction.

Howard wasn't the only one to respond to Monday's collision. After all, the Timberwolves managed a 106:80 win against the defending champions. Taking down a team as strong as the Nuggets is no easy task, but Minnesota made it seem like child's play.

With a 0-2 loss to Denver, the Timberwolves are currently attracting the attention of the entire NBA community. Kendrick Perkins couldn't help himself underline his prediction a final appearance in Minnesota.

Also the former NBA center posted a GIF from Anthony Edwards moving to Michael Jordan.

Iman Shumpert also chimed in, tweeting about how Edwards and Co. were able to steal two games on the road.

Former NBA player Eddie Johnson also shared his thoughts on the Timberwolves' win in Denver. He was even amazed at how the team managed to suffer a lopsided defeat despite the absence of starting center Rudy Gobert, who missed the game due to the birth of his first child.

Hall of Famer and three-time champion James Worthy was also impressed by the whole thing.

Finally, Terrence Ross, who announced his retirement last year, praised the Timberwolves' defense.

To give more context to Ross's tweet, it said on Monday: Defense was key. The Timberwolves relentlessly pursued Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, both of whom struggled from the floor.

Jokic finished the game with just 16 points – his lowest-scoring game of this year's playoffs. The Nuggets center shot just 5 of 13 (38.5%), which was behind the Timberwolves' front line.

When we switched to Murray, the Nuggets guard was even worse, finishing the game with just eight points on 3 of 18 (16.7%) shooting from the floor. Throughout the game, Minnesota sent bodies at Murray, who became so frustrated that he even threw a heat pack onto the court while sitting on the bench.

The referees did not see Murray throw the object, so the guard was not disciplined during the game. Still, he will likely receive a sanction from the league.

Overall, the Timberwolves achieved a field goal percentage of 34.9% compared to the Nuggets.

On offense, Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards both finished with 27 points each to lead Minnesota. Towns also added 12 rebounds to his name and finished the night with a double-double. The team shot 50% from the field and extended its lead to as many as 32 points in the third quarter.

With two away wins under their belt, the Timberwolves now return to the Target Center with momentum on their side. Tips for Game 3 will be available on Friday, May 10th.
