Cowboys' Micah Parsons fights sumo wrestler in Tokyo: Video

NFL

Cowboys star Micah Parsons is looking beyond the football field to improve his football skills for the upcoming season.

The three-time Defensive Player of the Year finalist and three-time Pro Bowler recently put himself to the test a sumo wrestler in a viral video captured in Japan.

While touring Asia with Texas quarterback CJ Stroud, Parsons met a sumo wrestler in Tokyo.

On his first attempt, the wrestler beat Parsons by forcing his way out of the circular dohyo.

Stroud quickly teased him with a “too small” cheer, followed by a baby cradle gesture, which the opposing wrestler then mimicked towards Parsons.

“Run it back,” the Cowboys star replied. “Every day I bump my legs.”

In the second round, Parsons retaliated, continually shouting “Come on” to cheers before finally returning the “too small” gesture to the sumo wrestler.

However, according to Penn Live, Parsons is no stranger to the wrestling ring, as he grew up wrestling and considered returning to the sport when he was a senior in high school when he was a Penn State football recruit.

The wrestling background may have contributed to his football success, and next season he hopes to record at least 13 sacks for the fourth straight season.

Stroud and Parsons are currently in Tokyo until May 9th.

They had previously traveled to China and visited Beijing and Shanghai.

The couple also threw things at each other as they threw it away ceremonial first pitch before a Tokyo Giants game.

Stroud threw a clean pitch while Parsons bounced in front of the catcher, who Parsons said was further back than Stroud's partner.
