Rich Paul discusses LeBron James' NBA future, predicting the Lakers star has two to three years left.

Few people in the basketball world would know that LeBron James is doing better than Rich Paul, CEO and founder of Klutch Sports Group, and he spoke candidly about the King during a Monday discussion with Frank Isola and Brian Scalabrine on SiriusXM.

In particular, Paul, who in addition to being an agent is also a long-time friend of James, said he believes the Los Angeles Lakers star's career still has “two to three more years.”

James is 39 years old and in his 21st season in the playoffs.

While no one would confuse this version of the future Hall of Famer with the one who won two championships with the Miami Heat mid-career, he is still one of the best players in the league even at this age.

He averaged 25.7 points, 8.3 assists, 7.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 54 percent from the field and 41 percent from deep during the 2023-24 season. It was the best three-point shooting mark of his career and underscored how his game has adapted with age.

James spoke about his own future last month, telling reporters: “I won't be playing for another 21 years, that's for damn sure. But not for very long. I don't know when this door will close, but when I will. “I'm retiring, but I don't have much time left.”

His future will be a major focus this offseason as he has a player option for the 2024-25 season and could become a free agent. He could also try to stay in the NBA and perhaps one day play alongside his son Bronny.

Still, it seems clear that NBA fans should enjoy James while they still can, because retirement is at least just around the corner.
