ARMORED SAINT for life!”

ARMORED SAINT guitarist Phil Sandoval explained: “ARMORED SAINT And Metal blade have a long history and after all the incredible amount of trials and tribulations the band has been through, Metal blade is already there ARMORED SAINT. Brian Slagel In particular, getting me back into the band to record was of utmost importance “Symbol of Redemption” along with Jeff Duncan. And in 2024 we have a new deal. I just want to say, “Thank you, Metal blade.'”

ARMORED SAINT guitarist Jeff Duncan said: “I am very pleased to be signing a new contract Metal Blade Records. Metal blade has been ARMORED SAINThas been my home for many years and I look forward to another new and productive chapter with them!”

ARMORED SAINT Bassist Joey Vera said: “We are honored to continue our long relationship with Metal Blade Records with this new signing. In a recent interview with “That rocks!”The Youtube Series hosted by Eddie Trunks, Jim Florentine And Don Jamieson, Vera spoke about the progress of the songwriting sessions for ARMORED SAINTis the successor to 2020 “Hit the sky” Album. He said: “We’re currently in the process of writing a new record and music, hopefully for a release in 2025. So that’s what we’re working towards. We also have a new single with a video that we recorded in January. That.” is scheduled to be released in June Metal blade. So yes, we are still busy. So there's a lot going on.

Regarding ARMORED SAINTis the cover version of “A chain doesn’t make a prison”that was written by Dennis Lambert And Brian Potter and was first published by PEOPLE in 1970 (it was also covered by FOUR TOPSas well as SANTANA And THE DOOBIE BROTHERS),Joey said: “We kind of went for this 70s retro R&B thing. There's this song called “A chain doesn’t make a prison” until FOUR TOPS, and it's always been one of my favorite songs. I always imagined it John I sang it, so I just made this demo, like a harder version of the song. And then we did this demo and said, “Wow, this is, this is incredible.” “We should just do this as a one-off.” Not really related to a record per se, but just for fun, sort of. We've never made a single before. It's always been like this: record 10, 11 songs and release an album. So these days all kids are single. So we say, 'Let's make a single.'”

Added John: “It's cool. It's a really cool version of the song. And I tried to really pay tribute to him.” Levi Stubbs [FOUR TOPS singer], one of the best R&B singers of that time. He just has a cool, soulful, powerful, almost rock voice, and I think a lot of people – Glenn Hughes probably especially – would admire his singing. And he just had that vibe. And so I thought, ‘Okay, I better get it out of myself.’ But we did a great job.”

On the topic of the music video for ARMORED SAINT's version of “A chain doesn’t make a prison”Bush said: “I’m wearing these suits, so to speak. It’s not entirely cheesy, but it looks kind of cool and retro and just shows a slightly different side of the band.”

Last month, bush said Nikki Blakk of San Francisco radio 107.7 The Bone around ARMORED SAINT's cover of “A chain doesn’t make a prison”: “[It came out] really cool. It's a kind of step backwards. I love this sound – especially [FOUR TOPS] was really cool in the 70s. Then they got a little more nervous. The things from the 60s were great, of course, but Levi Stubbs, the main singer, was great. He had a cool, just soulful, powerful voice. So Joey had this idea to do it. We made the song. I don't know exactly when it will come out. We made a video about us all wearing suits. So it's pretty funny. Things are a little different for us. It actually looked pretty cool aesthetically. We shot it at someone's house somewhere here in Hollywood. The guy had all these crazy decorations in his house where he lived. So the director found her. And so we kind of spun it in circles, which is really cool. It was fun.”

Regarding the progress of the songwriting sessions for ARMORED SAINTis the next LP, bush said: “We've already written a few songs – we probably have five or six, and we still have a handful more to write.” ARMORED SAINT is known not to be very fast. It would be cool if we had a little urgency. Not that we're lazy about it. We kind of work at our own pace. And when ideas come, they come. And then the ball somehow gets going and then it starts. But in the end I always say that it's better to make a great record. We'll never be a band that had like 30 records – that just wasn't our path – but we can still have it every The shot has to be great and that should be the goal. Not that all bands with 30 records just say, “Let's put out some crap,” but sometimes I think a lot of people do things just to tour, and that's just not really our MO. So if we could try Especially less often than every five years [considering] at our age, would be something that would be good. But in the end it will come when it comes. But I think 2025 is somewhat realistic.”

Asked if ARMORED SAINT would think about doing an EP instead of a full-length album like many other artists have done in recent years, John said, “I want to make one [full] Record because metal people still love records, metal fans still want to buy vinyl and CDs. It's probably the only genre that people still want… I mean, of course people get it in different ways – through downloads or MP3s or whatever; If that's your way of listening to music, do what makes you happy – but I think people still love the aesthetic of vinyl, records and CDs. Some people still have cassette tapes; I don't know if they're listening or if it even sounded good. But people like the product, and that's really great. And we have always released vinyl from the beginning, even in recent years Metal blade when vinyl took a big hit. It's having a bit of a resurgence now, but I think it's great that the fans still want it. And I want to do a full-length album.

bush The Chill Dude On A Couch previously told about it ARMORED SAINT Songwriting Process: “We write something and then we try to make this really good sounding demo. I go and sing. I actually try to sing it like I'm singing a record, and we kept a lot of the original vocals going back to the way we wrote songs [2000’s] 'Epiphany' even. Because sometimes I think you're singing something you might never sing Exactly the same thing, and that nuance in your voice or who knows what, your tone of voice, you can try to imitate it, but maybe you'll never imitate it in exactly that way. The same goes for a guitar lead – a certain bend, it may not be exactly the same as you play it again. So I think those are the main things you want to keep when making demos and that's what we do. So I have to get back to work. And we certainly have more work to do. We certainly don't work at a fast pace; Everyone knows that SAINTS. We could try to give it a little urgency and move a little faster without sacrificing quality. I think that's a good idea.
