10 NBA players who could be traded this summer, including Trae Young

Zach LaVine, one of the league's best shooting guards, has struggled defensively and raised questions from other NBA teams about trading for him. He is more of an isolated scorer, but that hasn't resulted in a win for the Bulls as the franchise hasn't won a playoff series during his tenure. After signing DeMar DeRozan a few offseasons ago, there was hope that Lavine could thrive as a secondary, but it didn't go according to plan.

It seems like every offseason Tyler Herro has his name mentioned in the middle of trade talks. Whether it's the Donovan Mitchell sweepstakes or the Heat decide to go in a different direction and Jimmy Butler moves up in age, Herro is not the number one scoring option. With a lot of potential, several teams would put together a promising package for the winner of the 2021-22 Sixth-Man of the Year. However, his trade value is no longer the same as it used to be.

The Orlando Magic have one of the most crowded backcourts in the NBA, holding Anthony to 22.4 minutes per game. With young players like Anthony Black, Jalen Suggs, Markelle Fultz and Jett Howard, the franchise is inevitably making a move for one of these young pieces this offseason.

In two seasons with the Nets, Simmons was limited to 57 games, averaging 6.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and six assists. Even though Simmons is only 27 years old, he is still valuable and one of the best defensive point guards in the NBA.

Falling short of a 15-point loss to the Chicago Bulls in the NBA Play-In Tournament should set up an interesting offseason for the Hawks. In the 2022 offseason, the franchise traded for Dejounte Murray, one of the best young two-way players in the league. It's no secret that Young struggles defensively, so bringing in Murray raised hopes of strengthening the defense in the backcourt. This season, the Hawks posted a 22-32 record with Young on the field. It might be time for the Hawks to make a move on the three-time NBA All-Star.

After trading Chris Paul, the Wizards brought in Jordan Poole to pair him with Kyle Kuzma. Towards the end of the season Poole's role changed as he came on as a substitute. He shot just 41.3% from the floor this season, which was his worst rate since his rookie year. Poole was seen as a building block for the future, but his place in the team's progression is unclear.

It's no secret that Payton Pritchard would thrive in a larger role with another team. Playing behind Derrick White and Jrue Holiday, he was limited to just 22.3 minutes per game, averaging 9.3 points. Pritchard signed a four-year contract extension with the Celtics this offseason, giving any suitors a solid backup point guard for the future.

The Sacramento Kings had a bit of a setback this season after finishing as the ninth seed in the Western Conference. Domantas Sabonis never failed to put up good stats in the regular season, but the former All-NBA Third Team player failed to show up in the playoffs. In 20 career playoff games, Sabonis is averaging just 12 points, seven rebounds and 2.7 assists.

With the emergence of Dereck Lively II, Dwight Powell's time on the court became limited. Lively's pick-and-roll chemistry with Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic has been evident since his first game in the NBA. Powell's perimeter presence and shot-blocking skills will entice multiple teams across the league to seek a center.

The Philadelphia 76ers have not advanced past the second round of the playoffs since the 2017-18 season. Having already won an MVP, Embiid's time in Philadelphia could be coming to an end. This would allow the 76ers to trade for multiple young talents to build around Tyrese Maxey, ending one era and building another with a deeper rotation.
