Heartwarming footage shows a little girl running into the arms of a pretzel vendor who parked his shopping cart outside her New York school and hugging him tightly after a week of vacation.

The child is seen running down the sidewalk toward the street worker standing next to his food truck. Then he leans down to return her tight hug.

The shopping cart clerk smiles at the girl's mother as she records the encounter, which she shared online, noting her daughter's excitement at seeing the local “pretzel man” after she was on vacation and “missed him for a week.”

“The cutest pretzel man: He parks his car in front of my daughter's school and she loves giving him high-fives as she walks by,” her mom wrote in the video's caption.

“She was on vacation for a week and missed him. When I picked her up from school today, she literally ran into his arms,” the mother added.

The viral video posted to TikTok last week by BasicallySoho, a New York City mom who owns a luxury baby sleepwear brand of the same name, quickly reached more than 2 million views.

The sweet post received hundreds of comments from other New Yorkers, many of whom expressed that they also have a special bond with their neighborhood grocer.

“I got emotional saying goodbye to my coffee cart husband when I moved from NYC. They become stitches in the fabric of your daily life,” one person wrote.

Another agreed: “I think that’s exactly how New York kids grow up. Favorite vendor since I was a kid, the same bodega store is so cute.”

Basically, Soho did not immediately return a Post request for comment on Sunday.
