NOW PLAY: SEC Men's Conference Championships

The SEC will once again hold its men's conference tournament this week at Sea Island Golf Club on the Georgia coast.

The tournament takes place Wednesday through Sunday on the Seaside Course, which also hosts the PGA Tour's RSM Classic in the fall.

Sea Island has hosted the SEC tournament since 2001.

The conference championship begins with a 54-hole stroke play tournament in which the eight-team field will decide the team champion in match play. The stroke play portion of the event will also determine the 2024 individual champion.

Florida won the SEC title last year and defeated Vanderbilt in the match play final before also winning the national championship. The Commodores won back-to-back SEC crowns in the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

This year a new individual champion will be crowned. Tennessee's Caleb Surratt won the league title as a freshman last spring. He was also named SEC Freshman of the Year and earned First-Team All-American honors in his only season with the Volunteers.

Earlier this year, Surratt turned pro and moved to LIV Golf, where he played for the Legion XIII team led by John Rahm.

The match play quarter-finals take place on Saturday morning, the semi-finals in the afternoon. The semifinal games will be broadcast live on SEC Network+ beginning at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The championship game takes place on Sunday and will be broadcast live on the SEC Network at 8 a.m. Eastern Time.
