THE GARFIELD MOVIE becomes an action film in its latest trailer

What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Garfield? Is it lasagna? Nap? Idleness? On Monday? Push a cute, stupid dog off the table? So The Garfield movie hopes you'll soon see the iconic cartoon cat in a whole new way – as an action star. In the film's latest trailer, the iconic orange cat fights for his life as he must help his estranged father escape the clutches of a highly motivated evil cat.

Oh yeah, and Snoop Dogg shows up to voice a cat.

The latest look at The Garfield moviewhich stars passengers' As a cat with a huge appetite for both food and sleep, Chris Pratt is anything but a lazy slacker. It is perhaps the most activity Garfield has ever had in his life. Here is The Garfield movieOfficial synopsis from Sony Pictures for the trailer:

Garfield, the world-famous Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat, is about to embark on a wild outdoor adventure! After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father – scruffy street cat Vic – Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered lives to join Vic on a hilarious, high-stakes heist.

The film is directed by Mark Dindal (The Emperor's New Groove, Chicken small), with a screenplay by Paul A. Kaplan & Mark Torgove and David Reynolds. It also stars Samuel L. Jackson as Garfield's father Vic. The rest of the cast is just as impressive. It also offers features Ted Lasso Alums Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein, as well as Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillén, Bowen Yang and Snoop “The Cat” Dogg.

The Garfield movie will hit theaters this spring on May 24, 2024. Appropriately, this day is not Monday. We know that a particular Orange Tabby doesn't work on Mondays. Although after this action-packed film, we may have to stop thinking of Garfield the way we always have. Unless we're talking about lasagna. Apparently that still applies.
