Warriors vs. Kings live score, updates, highlights from the 2024 NBA Play-In Tournament game

The Kings get a chance at redemption, this time in a one-game format.

Golden State and Sacramento met in the first round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, with the Warriors defeating the Kings in seven games. Now there will be a rematch between the two Californian teams in the 2024 play-in tournament.

The no. 9 Kings (46-36) will be the No. 10 Warriors (46-36) as Sacramento owns the tiebreaker based on the division's win-loss record. The loser is eliminated from playoff contention, while the winner plays the loser No. 7 New Orleans Pelicans/No. 8 Los Angeles Lakers game.

Golden State's core still consists of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, but the rest of the team has changed since last season.

The Warriors traded Jordan Poole for Chris Paul and added Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson-Davis in the draft. Additionally, Jonathan Kuminga has emerged as a quality third goalscorer for Steve Kerr.

A lot can be said about Curry's great play. At age 36, he leads the team with 26.4 points per game on a shooting percentage of .450/.408/.923. Without the dominance of LeBron James at 39 years old, Curry would be mentioned more often.

The Kings bring back essentially the same roster that earned them a third-place finish last year. They didn't necessarily play worse this year, but the Western Conference was in good shape. Their 46-win season would have earned them fourth place last season.

De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis are a formidable guard big duo. Fox continues to be an excellent late-game closer, averaging 26.6 points and leading the league with 2.0 steals per game.

Sabonis is averaging 19.4 points, 8.2 assists and a league-leading 13.4 rebounds per game, giving him a league-high 26 triple-doubles this season.

Fans won't have the luxury of watching a full seven-game rematch, but it should be a highly dynamic play-in tournament game with playoff implications on the line.
