Team USA will be fielding some heavyweights at the upcoming Paris Olympics.

USA Basketball is finalizing a Summer Games roster that includes LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Joel Embiid. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports. According to the report, the roster also includes Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, Tyrese Haliburton, Anthony Edwards, Jrue Holiday, Bam Adebayo and Anthony Davis.

Team USA initially had a spot available on its roster. On Tuesday, according to Jeff Zillgitt of USA Todaythe team then filled it out with Kawhi Leonard to round out the 12-man group.

The team is coached by Steve Kerr, head coach of the Golden State Warriors. Los Angeles Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue, Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra and Gonzaga coach Mark Few will serve as his assistants.

Tatum, Durant, Booker, Holiday and Adebayo return from the team that won gold at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics. James wasn't on that team; He is returning to the Olympics for the first time since Team USA won gold in London 2012.

This will be James' fourth Olympics. He also won gold with Team USA in 2008 and bronze in 2004, the last time the USA did not win the gold medal.

The Paris Games will be Curry's first Olympics. He was scheduled to play for Team USA in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, but withdrew due to knee and ankle injuries.

These games will also be the first for Embiid, who committed in October to play for Team USA against France or his native Cameroon. Embiid holds dual citizenship of the US and France.

Team USA is looking for redemption after failing to win a medal at the FIBA World Cup in the Philippines last summer. However, there could be strong competition from a host French team with Victor Wembanyama and Rudy Gobert, a Serbian team with possibly Nikola Jokić and a Canadian team with likely Shai-Gilgeous Alexander.
