One injured in Moses Lake shooting and car crash

At least one person was injured after a shooting in Moses Lake on Saturday evening.

According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Arlington and Arnold Drives when shots were fired from at least one of the two vehicles involved.

“There were two vehicles involved,” said Kyle Foreman, spokesman for the sheriff’s office. “The following vehicle rammed the vehicle in front and both vehicles collided. One of the vehicles involved crashed into two parked vehicles. “One person in the rear vehicle was injured as a result of the accident and was transported to Samaritan Healthcare in Moses Lake with non-life-threatening injuries.”

Foreman says it's unclear whether shots were fired from both vehicles or just one of them.

“We don’t know exactly how many of the vehicles they fired. We know the lead vehicle fired shots, so it's possible the trailing vehicle was attacked and that's why they rammed the lead vehicle to stop it. “The shooting.”

According to investigators, up to six people were involved in the shooting and all but the injured person fled on foot after the accident.

Foreman says the incident is believed to be gang-related.
