Suns face T-Wolves in the 1st round

The Phoenix Suns will face the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the NBA playoffs, a series that begins Saturday in Minneapolis. However, kickoff times and the rest of the schedule have not yet been determined as play-in games are still pending for the teams seeded six-10 in each conference.

The sixth-seeded Suns defeated the third-seeded T-Wolves on Sunday, while the Los Angeles Lakers beat the New Orleans Pelicans in their respective regular-season finales. The results helped Phoenix avoid the play-in tournament and secure a week's rest before the first-round series begins.

Wins by the Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder moved the Wolves back to No. 3 after three teams entered their regular season finale tied for No. 1 for the first time in NBA history.

When do the Suns have Game 1 of their first-round playoff series against the T-Wolves?

The Suns play the first of up to seven games against the T-Wolves on Saturday. Tip-off times and TV channels for the games will be determined at a later date.

The series begins in Minnesota at Target Center, where the Timberwolves are 30-11 this season. The Suns finished the regular season on the road 24-17.

Phoenix finished its regular season 10-4 in its last 14 games. Minnesota finished its round of 16 at 9-5, with the difference being two straight Suns wins down the stretch.

The Suns also won the previous game of the season, a three-point victory in November, laying the foundation for regular season victory.
