Live updates from the Guardians vs. Chicago White Sox game

The Guardians conclude their home opener against the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night at Progressive Field with first pitch at 6:10 p.m.

Tanner Bibee (1-0, 3.86 ERA) will take the mound opposite White Sox starter Erick Fedde (0-0, 2.79 ERA).

The Guardians (8-3) beat the White Sox in their home opener on Monday before losing 7-5 to Chicago on Tuesday night, a game Cleveland lost after originally erasing a five-run deficit in the first inning.

Wes Parsons dealt to the Cleveland Guardians in a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays

The Guardians acquired right-handed pitcher Wes Parsons from the Blue Jays in exchange for $250,000 in International Bonus Pool funds. Parsons was then optioned to Triple-A Columbus.

The 31-year-old Parsons adds some edge depth to the Guardians' pitching ranks. He has a career 3.48 ERA in the minors, but in 36 appearances in the majors he has struggled with a 7.40 ERA.

An injury to Yoan Moncada could sideline him for three to six months

The White Sox placed third baseman Yoan Moncada on the 15-day injured list with a left adductor muscle strain. During Tuesday's game, Moncada collapsed while running to first base and later had to be rescued from the field.

The initial reports suggest that Moncada could be out for between three and six months.
