Release date set for Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans film

Theater owners got their first look at Amazon MGM Studios' year-end Christmas celebration Red, starring Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans. While the studio didn't give an official presentation at CinemaCon this week, it used the annual conference to screen ten minutes of the comedy in a spacious suite at Caesars Palace.

Those who saw the footage were asked to keep plot details secret, although it is known that JK Simmons plays Santa Claus and Bonnie Hunt plays Mrs Claus.

Red“, from Dwayne Johnson and his Seven Bucks Productions, is scheduled to hit theaters worldwide on November 15, 2024, taking full advantage of the long year-end holiday corridor (several theater operators said). Red wasn't the only news Amazon MGM Studios made when they attended CinemaCon for the first time as a mixed ensemble. The company announced Wednesday morning that it will be adding four of its original films to its theatrical calendar – RaMell Ross' The Nickel Boys (2024) with Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor; Bart Layton Crime 101 (2025); Luca Guadagninos After the hunt (2025) with Julia Roberts; and Phil Lord and Chris Miller Ave Maria Project (2026) starring Ryan Gosling.

Among Amazon MGM's titles already slated for a traditional release was Guadagnino's Zendaya-starrer challenger (April 26, 2024), Megan Park's My old ass (August 2, 2024), The fire within (August 29, 2024), Blink twice (August 24, 2024), Levon's trade (January 17, 2025) and compassion (August 15, 2025).
