Here's a recent MLB story from the AP:

NEW YORK (AP) — A magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck New York City on Friday as the Yankees were taking batting practice before their home opener.

Three days later, the Yankees are playing after another natural event. At least this is expected.

A solar eclipse is expected to occur Monday afternoon, with parts of New York state on their path to totality.

The Yankees host the Marlins at 6:05 p.m. in a game postponed four hours because of possible delays. The first 15,000 fans will receive a Yankees eclipse t-shirt.

Manager Aaron Boone wasn't sure Sunday whether the Yankees would change their pregame routine because of the eclipse.

“Not yet, but we will certainly be informed if we need to change things, but nothing at the moment,” Boone said.

The Yankees typically take batting practice about two and a half hours before first pitch at home games.

The last total solar eclipse occurred on August 21, 2017, while Boone was broadcasting the Little League World Series for ESPN in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

“I remember the Little League World Series and I had the glasses,” Boone said. “It was definitely interesting.”
